Just a line - I was fortunate enough to be invited to
fly on a trip yesterday to Bembridge - vis was great
and weather really fine ! - Landed at Bembridge and
a young man in a high vis vest was at the door as the engine
stopped - 'Welcome to Bembridge Sir ' - 'Do you require
fuel ' - 'Can I assist with any luggage ' !

Are we still in England I thought to myself !!

We did need a taxi !

'Yes Sir I'll call one for you right away '

All for a landing fee of a tenner !!

Nice lunch at the Crab & Lobster overlooking the sea!

I've decided I quite like flying !!

Well done Bembridge -we'll come again soon !!

I agree, a friendly reception upon my first visit, 22nd July, we only walked across the end of the runway to the propeller restraunt for a bowl of soup . We were offered a ride into Benbridge town when we paid our landing fee, unfortunately we were short of time. I would like to spend more time there next visit. Interesting approach onto 30 on a hot day, very bumpy!! We went back across the Solent to Goodwood, new territory for us as we are based at Liverpool.

What else does the "benbridge restraunt" offer? Alphabet spaghetti by any chance? :8

I popped in there yesterday (Sunday) as well. Same friendly reception. Fuel delivered within a few minutes. All very efficient and something other airfields could learn from.

Thats probably one of the reasons there were 30 something visiting aircraft.

We went to the Propellor Inn for lunch as we thought the Crab and Lobbie might have been a bit busy. Not exactly high class food but certainly a passable 'Pub Grub'

Spent the afternoon on the beach and now look a lobsterish myself.....
