I hope the pilot was authorised to land at Courchevel, and has an understanding insurance company....
Apparently the pilot was a bit high, and a bit fast. Fortunately he had the good sense not to try a go around, and nobody was hurt.

Glad to read that nobody was hurt!
But what a shame of such a lovely bird.

The strip looked tiny when I was there, but that was from a snowboard whilst wearing beer googles.
Glad they were OK'ish

Nothing to worry about, dear boy - just a slight tail strike on landing! ;)
I'll get me coat :)

I flew in there 2 weeks ago. Very interesting approach, but easy to see what this guy did wrong.

Wow - I was in Courchevel at the time... and didn't know anything about it.
If you think this strip is small, take a look at Meribel, just over the mountain!
I wouldn't fancy either in anything bigger than a 152!

Courchevel's quite big! They used to have scheduled services in a Dash 7 (4-engined turboprop). The runway's about 500m long, but with the slope it is the equivalent of well over 1000m.
But it's not very forgiving if you get your approach wrong....:\

HB-FOX comes to turweston several times a year with
Kimi Raikkonen, has been his run around for the last 2 seasons
I think the aircraft is one from the skyair fleet, major pc12 operator, was in for the british gp 2 weeks back .Bet they are going to have fun getting that off the mountain!
