An Austrian with a carbon wing strapped to his back will attempt to be the first man to fly across the English Channel unaided.

Felix Baumgartner plans to leap from a plane 30,000 feet (9,000 metres) above Dover and glide over the 22 miles (35 kilometres) of water to France.

Hardly un aided when you jump from a plane at 30,000ft. But got to admire him.. More power to his elbow(s)

Your mis quote. The original "Badgeees, we don need no steenkin badgeees" comes from a western I think. Which one was it ??

jackyboy - The Treasure of the Sierra Madre originally, but I thought it was Blazing Saddles until I checked!

Good luck to the chap - Why hasn't the excellent (and nutter extraordinaire) Adrian Nicholson beaten him to it?!!

The quote does indeed come from Blazing Saddles - as well as TSM I suppose...!

Yeah, I read about this before. It's a controlled freefall over the channel. The wing's a cheat innit?
