View Full Version : 767 Autobrake Fill Pressure

Hope I'm not abusing this forum by asking to many techo Q's..... :D

Today's query concerns autobrake fill pressure on touchdown. According to the Boeing 767 Maintenance Manual (32-42-00):

"The maximum rate of pressure increase for the autobrakes is 450psi for each second for the first three seconds after wheel spin up. This lets the nose gear come down smoothly. After that, the increase is 600psi for each second for all the deceleration settings."

This agrees with the Engineering training notes.

However, from our airline's Operations Manual:

"Deceleration is limited until the pitch angle is less than 1 degree, then deceleration increases to the selected level."

Can these two methods of brake control co-exist in the programming of the Brake System Control Unit? If not, which is correct? Do some Brake control units with specific dash numbers have one method and others the other method?

Our technical centre has contacted Boeing regarding this matter, but, as yet, there has been no response.

Same message from different colleges.
When confused, dont be, go with the Boeing publication,you get sued less, and are correct more often.

LOL..... Just one problem.... the AOM looks like a generic Boeing book, too :D

No worries... I'll wait a few more weeks for a response from Boeing, then "X File" it ;)
