What software does everyone use? Not much seems to work for Canada, and the Jepp stuff is way too pricey. Any suggestions?

I'm only flying VFR right now.

Aeroplanner is good. $5.00 / month. Use it / pay for it monthly, only when you need it.

Gives you a nice map, with a table of e.t.a's, fuel, etc.

I'm only VFR as well too. So, it gives international data (winds) as well then I guess?

What sort of information are you looking for and to what detail?

Just something to make VFR crosscountry planning easier and quicker, preferably low cost. Something that could give me time/GS/wind computations would be a great help. :D

I suggest a CR-2 whiz wheel. Works good and lasts a long time.
Cheers;)

Well you sure can't beet a good ole whiz wheel but if you are looking for an electronic option any of the palm pilots will work and you can get hold of several flight planning programs like E6B.

Well sure a whizwheel is great, but I don't have a Palm. Don't get me wrong, I don't want a simulation of the whizwheel. ;)

Sign up for a month for $5 and try it.
