Years ago, an airport required to generate 7000 + public transport movements to start the ball rolling.

What criteria must be satisfied these days for an airport in the UK to apply & establish controlled airspace?

I believe the number of ATMs criteria has been dropped, but obviously ATMs help your case....Ask D.A.P.
Advice contained in their 'Airspace Charter' document.
Also, allow plenty of time from start to finish, at least 2 years.

Read CAP725 Airspace Change Process Guidance Document available on the CAA website. I've been down this road, successfully, but never again!
