Just wondering how today's French ATC strike affects GA flights.

Are all their controllers out, including the likes of Lille, Deauville etc? And what about the controllers at customs airfields like Le Touquet?

Does the strike effectively stop us crossing the Channel, and are there any more planned for next week?

I went to France last time there was a strike on and had no problem at all. Lille Approach and Calais and Le Touq towers seemed to be working normally.

Might not be so every time, of course.

Didn't seem to make any difference today, we came back from Troyes with no problems. Nice and quiet actually, we started speaking to Manston around Abbeville.

Came back from Ile d'Oleron this afternoon - La Rochelle were open, so were Nantes, and Rennes (with a very cheerful English chappie on the FIS frequency). Dinard was very 'ferme' - argghh! Its where I wanted fuel. Instead went to a very nice St Brieuc and launced off from there. Mind, you, I didn't try filing airways or IFR (as much due the the notherly wind and the desire to stay low and out of it)
