Hi all,

Any knowledgeable people out there know how fast/slow the character speed/words per minute the Morse is transmitted when identifying VORs/NDBs/ILSs etc??

Cheers,
Daniel

5 wpm according to the Pooleys "teach yourself Morse" tape I've got in the car at the moment.

Incidentally, on the same subject, does anybody know why some beacons have the ident written on the ½m chart in dots and dashes, and some as letters. The only patten I can detect is that more NDBs have the morse, and more VORs have the letters - it's puzzling me at the moment.

Is the Pooley's tape any good, Genghis? Struggling with Morse myself at the moment :(

They have different tones and repeat frequencies, too. DME idents for example repeat only once per minute and are at a high tone.
