Three weeks ago I passed my GFT test, and have been itching to go flying ever since. Several times I've tried to book a PA38 from my flying club, but the only one that's ever available looks like it's about to fall apart. Also, it will cost me almost £100 per hour (including landing fees), which seems very expensive for an absolute crate.

So, I've decided to try and find a low cost share somewhere, that will hopefully have reasonable availability, and not too much initial capital outlay. My question is, Is it worth my while joining the PFA ? I've looked on their website, and there doesn't seem to be many shares advertised in the classified section. and there are none at all at any airfields near me (Biggin, Headcorn, Rochester etc..) Does the PFA magazine have a greater classified section than is published on the web ? Is there anywhere else I could look ?

Many thanks for any help.

I don't think there are any more in the PFA mag than on the website.

You could post a request on the Flyer forum link below.

http://www.flyer.co.uk/forum2/list.php?f=4

And the www.thehangar.co.uk have a groups section.

There are probably more non PFA type groups around so these sites might give you a wider choice as you see both advertised.

Also have a look on the Pilot website can't remember the address.

Good luck
