Hi
MEL Main Wheel Brake 32-42-01-A

It's unclear from the MEL whether or not the FMGC will recognize that the brake has been removed/deactivated.

Will one get a ECAM Status message of CAT III DUAL inop

or

Will you get an FMA of CAT III DUAL on approach and have to remember that one can only operate to CAT III SINGLE limits?

thanks

The latter, me thinks.

From FCOM DSC-32-30-10

All the normal and alternate braking components are fully-monitored. Any detected failure is signalled to the crew via ECAM warnings.

The BSCU performs the following secondary functions:

‐ It checks the residual pressure in the brakes,

‐ It monitors the brake temperature,

‐ It provides discrete wheel speed information to other aircraft systems.

It is not listed as a component monitored for landing capability in our QRH so I would think that CATIII Dual will be displayed and it will be up to the crew to remember.
