Loss of roll damping in the stall

Q.214 in Standards Doc 10 QB: 'Explain the loss of roll damping at angles above critical α'

Anyone care to provide a simple explanation to this question please? Struggling to find anything that doesn't get into complex PoF territory.

Here goes!

Maximum lift is at the stalling angle of attack.

At "normal" angles of attack with a roll rate on the down going wing the angle of attack will increase and lift will increase tending to damp the roll rate.

If the wing is at the stalling angle any roll rate will cause the lift to decrease which will increase the roll rate.

Vice versa on the up going wing.
