Wondered if anyone knows whether BRK is still in business?

Searched on the forum, threads are a couple of years old...

No response to emails.

Their C152 was used in Midsomer murders the other night if that's any help.

The company had gone into hibernation due to the untimely death of one of the directors and the workload that resulted from the legal issues.

The low workload approach was taken and all the aircraft had been leased to one flying club.

Negotiations are currently taking place with a microlight operator at an unlicenced airfield to offer microlight to SEP upgrade training and affordable hour building.

I would expect to be able to offer something concrete by the end of next month.

So shall I take it as ... they are not currently offering the C152 for lease to private individuals as advertised on the website?

Very interested in this type of offering...

I have a number from someone so hope to make contact shortly.. just conscious if it is not the most appropriate time due to bereavement.

Good morning! I would like to get in touch with Red Kite Aviation too about a/c hire, but I am struggling to get any response via email. I was wondering if anyone has any contact details? They would be gratefully appreciated!

I have tried to PM A and C , but I notice that he does not accept PMs!

Thank you!

Unfortunately I don't have a PPrune PM facility following a spat with the website managment.

The problem seemed to be that answering enquirys such as yours by PM was considered not to be playing by the rules.

Try google you might find what you are looking for there !

Feb / March is the time when the aircraft annual checks get done so my head is very much in to the maintenance to make sure I have some aircraft to work next summer.

It is starting to look like the microlight thing won't happen and I will be renting one aircraft direct to hours builders with the other two aircraft permanently dedicated to a flying club, the third ( hour building ) aircraft will also be available to the club during peak demand.

Hope I don't get my PMs banned for offering your contact details then!

Hi

At the moment Big Red Kite is without aircraft, we had an offer for the fleet that simply could not be turned down.

The result is the company has been looking for new aircraft but has been hampered by the quality of avalable aircraft and the quite frankly bizarre behaviour of some aircraft vendors some of who seem to think that hanging the cheapest radio into an aircraft with a set of ancient avionics constituents increasing the price by £15k because it complies with 8.33.

Given time Big Red Kite will return to the leasing market but only when Quality aircraft with modern avionics are avalable at a price that makes business sense for both BRK and the customer.

Have you managed to find a quality aircraft yet? I'm interested in hour building.

The search goes on, missed a DR400 in Southern Europe recently but there is not much on the market that I would wish to offer at the moment.

It is starting to look like I will have to buy something in poor condition at the end of the summer and refurbish it over the winter , may be it’s time to get an old Cessna 150 and do the Rotax conversation as that would provide a both economical and reliable aircraft.

I would send you a PM so as not to ask something that is off topic - but I think you've got your PM's turned off.
Do you know of anyone that might do the same sort of thing as BRKA? Or do you know where I may be able to find some non equity share groups for hour building?
I would be based in Scotland around the East Coast (Prestwick, Dundee, Perth)

So A and C do you think the C150 Rotax conversion is financially viable? There hasn't seen to be much interest in it in the past.
