Hi there,

I have scoured the CAA website and many blogs trying to explain the conversion to the EASA licence. I have downloaded the relevant forms and trying to figure out the costs involved. I'm sure it's quite straight forward to convert however this is where my issue comes in.

I have recently moved house and need to update my personal details, I am also approaching my SEP renewal. Does any one have any advice or experience of a similar situation? Do I send the forms off together or do each as a separate application?

And help would be great.

The good news is that your JAA Licence is already deemed to be an EASA Licence. You only need to visit your local ATO/RTF,(Flying School) and renew/revalidate your SEP Class Rating.

Once you have done that, you can apply for your Licence to be re-issued as an lifetime EASA PPL anytime before it's 5 year expiry date. The Flying School will have done lots of these recently and will help you with the forms.

You can update your address at the same time.

Much easier than any of that...

All online, then pay your money online. Regardless of what they say, don't post anything, anywhere - your new licence will come. Don't bother with any flying schools, signatures or anything else, not needed.

Easy - bravo to the CAA!

Fly safe, Sam.
