CPL licence privileges

It's been a while I lasted posted so I'll keep this short and sweet.

I have a CPL/IR but have not flown a PA28 for more than a year and a Seneca for about 10 months. I have however been flying an airliner for some time. I realise that my single pilot ME/IR will expire after one year but is there a similar expirary date on VFR flying in a PA28? I want to go up and have a bit of fun in something a little smaller than I fly every day but I'm not sure if my licence will allow it. I think it'll be OK but could someone please confirm this?

A single engine class rating is valid for 2 years so check when your Certificate of Revalidation was last signed. If you have a UK CPL then you automatically have IMC Rating privileges. If you have a JAA licence then you are VFR only (min vis 3 km actually). Of course, anyone hiring you a PA28 may want you to do a chack flight if you've not been in a puddle-jumper for some time. To carry pax you need 3 t/o's and landings in the last 90 days as 'sole manipulator' of the controls.
