Nav advice S to N, east of London TMA

Any nav advice for a guy that's got a Calais to the north east of England tomorrow, want to cross the channel at 6k and stay east of the TMA and don't want to go swimming if the donk quits, is there any transit routes thru the TMA? And is a transit thru those danger areas east of Southend usually available? And before anybody says " get the chart out ya lazy bastard" I'm in the pub.

With the UK alcohol limit for flying being 1/4 that of the English drink drive limit - get out of the pub and get the chart out you lazy b@stard :)

Calais DCT CLN can't be done at 6000ft due to the TMA, 4500ft will do it, Southend will see you through / round the danger areas.

You won't get a VFR crossing of the TMA,/Airways and only an IFR one if you have filed an IFR plan. It's also unlikely that you will get a crossing of the EGD138 complex if they are active, which seems to be most weekdays.

If you route via RINTI and Clacton(CLN) VOR, then towards Geordieland between 5,000' and 5,500' you should be below the TMA/Airways. You may have to deviate very slightly to the east to avoid EGD138a. Soutrhend can advise.

So maybe the advice should be..... get out of the pub, Go Home and Sobber Up, then get the chart out you lazy b@stard :)

Pretty much any smartphone that allows you to browse the internet and post to PPRuNe, also allows you to run SkyDemon, Air Nav Pro or any of the other options. So you don't have to go home to study the chart. You can do that right where you are, you lazy b@stard!;)

FBW, wise words, got a late start so stopping over in Lille tonight then onward to prestwick in the morning flying a newly bought Maule N1052U with the proud new owner sitting right seat who can't wait to get it home and keep you guys busy.
