ATSU visits; nr. London?

One of your helpful colleagues from MACC has suggested that I might be able to arrange a visit to one of the London facilities - West Drayton or perhaps one of the Towers at EGLL or EGLG

Basically I'm an interested PPL, and the day job is Technical Architect (not in aviation), so the tech side of it interests me too.

The most interaction I normally have is with a few isolated FISOs or ATCOs, so seeing how some of the big centres work would be a real treat for me.

Would anyone have an appropriate contact / tel number I could call?

I just wanted to say a huge Thank You to Fallows for a really enjoyable day yesterday.

Swanwick is a very impressive place, and it was fascinating to watch everything that was going on. Then, to sit down and talk to controllers about their job, watch the aircraft movements on the radar screen with explainations of everything that was going on, and watching and listening to the London Information guys doing their job was superb - great fun, and very educational.

I've always respected the work which you ATC guys do, but I respect you a whole lot more now that I've seen the system in action - and I've come away with a much better knowledge of how the system works, too. I'd definitely recommend that any pilots, whatever level, try to arrange a visit. (But not all at once!)

Also, a big Thank You to paulo, too, for coordinating the visit. Was good to finally meet you - and I'll have to take you up in the Europa some time!

I would like to say the visit was excellent and very useful I am sure it will hopfully improve my RT and make what I say more helpful to you ATCO's.
