PPL(A) and Gliding

Hi All,
Currently I am in the process of learning how to fly gliders. I am also embarking on some retraining to get my expired JAR PPL (SEP) rating back which expired several years ago.

In my research I cannot find out what licence/rating/differences is needed to fly gliders once I have my EASA PPl renewed.

As far as I can tell to fly gliders you need a LAPL(S) or SPL....but what about if you have a full EASA PPL and dont want to 'downgrade' to a LAPL?.....Can I hold 2 different licences? how do I do both?

Any help would be hreat because Google search is fruitless!

You retain your PPL(SEP) and get a separate LAP(S) or SPL.

Can I hold 2 different licences?

Yes.

You can hold a PPL/A and a LAPL/S or an SPL at the same time. These are Licences for different Classes of aircraft.

You can't hold more than one EASA licence for the same Class of aircraft at the same time, eg, a LAPL/A and a PPL/A.

I'm probably missing something vital here (usually do but I'm not that bright) but you don't need any kind of powered license to fly a glider. I'm confused by the replies TBH.
