I have questions regarding the Fuel carried on board a commercial aircraft.
I have expanded what is given in the above link so as to make sure my understanding is correct. I have bullet-ed the questions at the end of this passage. I have tried to present this lengthy passage very precisely not to confuse the readers.

::: A - When a destination alternate aerodrome is required
x1)
1.Fuel for Destination ( including Approach,Landing,missed approach).
+
2.Fuel for alternate aerodrome specified in the operational and ATS flight plans (Including approach and Land).
+3.Fuel to fly for 30 minutes at holding speed at 450 m (1 500 ft) above the alternate aerodrome under standard temperature conditions.
+4.Contingency fuel (Reserve Fuel) specified by the operator to the satisfaction of the State of the Operator , normally 5% of Trip fuel;
OR
X2)
1.Fuel to fly to the alternate aerodrome via any predetermined point(Including approach and Land).
+
2.Fuel for 30 minutes at 450 m (1 500 ft) above the alternate aerodrome.
+
3.Contingency fuel (Reserve Fuel) specified by the operator to the satisfaction of the State of the Operator , normally 5% of Trip fuel;
provided that fuel shall not be less than the amount of fuel required to fly to the aerodrome to which the flight is planned.
+
Fuel to destination (Approach and Landing)
4.Fuel for two hours at normal cruise consumption.

::: B - When a destination alternate aerodrome is NOT required
1.Fuel for destination Aerodrome. (Including Approach and Landing).
+
2.Fuel to hold for 30 min at destination aerodrome @ 1500 feet / 450m
under standard temperature and conditions.
+
3.Contingency fuel (Reserve Fuel) specified by the operator to the
satisfaction of the State of the Operator, normally 5% of Trip fuel;
OR
1.Fuel for destination Aerodrome.
+
2 hrs of fuel for cruise under normal fuel consumption.

Questions:
-----------
1. The ::::A,X2) defined above(that is the 'OR' part)when do we use this ?
2. What do you mean by fuel to fly to alternate via per-determined points ?
Refer ::::A,X2) Point 1.
3. Why Alternate is mentioned initially instead of Destination Aerodrome ? Any
significance for that ?
Refer ::::A,X2) Point 1.
4.Does the part that is highlighted in green explains points 1+2+3 should
not be less than Trip fuel ? Refer ::::A,X2) Point 3.
5.The only difference between the 1st and 2nd options separated by an OR

part in :::A section is "Fuel for two hours at normal cruise consumption".

what do we gain from it ? , who will select the second option since it will
increase the weight of the aircraft and degrade the commercial
Performance.

You have posted EXACTLY the same question in at least 3 different forums.

The Mods will not like this. Pick one forum and stick to it.
