I've been a out of the loop recently as I haven't flown for 14 months and I'm getting confused regarding my JAR-FCL PPL(A).

Do I need to convert my licence to an EASA part FCL prior to April, or can it be done when the licence expires in August 2014?

I've also noticed that in order to apply for for an EASA licence, I must have a current and adequate language proficiency. How and where can I be assessed for this?

Many thanks for your help!

Yes you can apply when you're old one runs out. I think they look at your place of birth when looking at the language proficiency. I can't remember doing anything for it when I sent of for my EASA license. However, one of our guys who was born in Wales had his rejected believe it or not...:). Cause of much merriment at the club.

Send an SRG1199 with the SRG1104. The Examiner who certifies your paperwork will sign the 1199.

Not true in the least! It has no effect on an ELP.

Being wrong is a speciality of mine, I've spent years training for it.
