For the last two or three days there's been a 727 flying various patterns over this bit of open FIR. What's it doing? Is it something to do with ETPS? or some odd bunch doing type conversions? whatever it is, it's lovely to see the old thing. Three days ago a VC10 went over at about FL70. I had all my builders out appreciating that fast deminishing sight.

G-OSRA oil spill spray plane, out of Hurn...yes thats right a B.727 on the UK register, whatever next!
Spray boom gear mounted under the rear fuselage, various pix of the thing on flickr etc.

Don't see many 727s these days, such a graceful beast!

Yes it's nice to see a Boeing 3holer again, Dan-Air had many of them 'sadly I did not fly them . But I ended up on the 5 Apu's Machine Instead. Great Laugh.

One of our old machines! Didn't know one was being retired to the UK and carry on flying!

727 was always my favourite plane as a young spotter in SW London, used to spend most lunchtimes spotting Heathrow inbounds right over my school in Battersea. There was something about the wings when viewed from directly below I somehow found very pleasing...
