I'm heading to Bordeaux for a week in July with my family and would love to take in a leisure flight(s) in the area. It would be all the better if I could log the hr(s) as I am currently training for PPL. Either way does anybody know of a flight school or aero-club that offer GA leisure flights in the general area? I've done a net search but I'm not having much luck to be honest.

There used to be a flying school at Soulac-sur-Mer. Unfortunately I don't have any details but it may be worth digging around or even calling the airfield if your french is up to it.

FFA = French Powered Flying Federation : >>> Fédération Française Aéronautique - FFA (http://www.ff-aero.fr/index.html)
Go to "Aéro-clubs" (flying clubs)
Select "La carte des aéro-clubs"
Wait a few seconds
Type "Bordeaux"
Wait some seconds ...

Where the airfields ? >>>> Carte.Aero FFA : le WebService pour Mac ou PC - Notam, cartes VAC, AIP et Météo par F-AERO (http://carte.f-aero.fr/)
Hope that helps.
