A light plane piloted by a 66-year-old Briton has gone missing over the Mediterranean Sea, French authorities have said.

Lets hope this turns out good news and just an error

The aircraft (1 POB) took off yesterday Friday mid-afternoon from Cannes to Salerno (SE of Naples). Last radar return about 50 km south of Cannes.

Plane involved shown as a Tobago. Sad and tragic end to what should have been an enjoyable flight. Condolances to family

Were there any radio comms or a 7700 squawk?

30nm S of Cannes, at any half sensible altitude, VHF would have worked fine.
