It sure would be nice for operators that are flying long haul routes over Russia in very cold temperatures.

Jet a1 fuel has a -47 C freezing point due to additives so we don't all have to look it up. It probably is for military and polar routes where freezing point is critical.

A-1 is used exclusively all over Europe. We only got the other stuff in the US.

There have been known to be some polar routes to/from ANC not least in the past. :ugh:

Jeppesen.com airport info indicates both Jet A, and Jet A1 are available at ANC.

Airnav shows Jet A and Jet A-1. But when you look at the bottom of the page which shows the fuel suppliers, it only shows Jet A under each company. And we always get Jet A in our tanks.
