Can anyone explain me this from FCOM 22-30-70-20 page 1,Arming condition of CLIMB mode:
"in flight, when the climb or go-around phase is active, and the following conditions are met.."
So I understand that when go around phase is active climb mode can be armed.
further down on FCOM it says about Engagement conditions :"The descent, approach or go around phase is not active"
So it can be armed in go around phase and not engage ? How do you understand this?

Climb mode respects altitude constraints, and my concern is if it is possible to have climb mode during go around phase to have all constraints respected.

Which go around altitude would you set on FCU when there is an altitude constraint in the missed approach ? Like in EBBR the first missed approach altitude is 2500 , then when established on radial 265 inbound climb to 4500?

Hi
So it can be armed in go around phase and not engage ? How do you understand this?
If you initiate the GA above AA, then SRS remains engaged until the FCU ALT* is reached. If you initiate the GA below AA, then as it reaches AA, SRS will change to CLB and it will respect the ALT CST.

Which go around altitude would you set on FCU
I'd set 2500 in the FCU for the reasons above.

It doesn't make sense to me , FCOM says CLMB can be armed but not engaged if go around phase is active?
PRO-NOR-SRP-01-80 P 1/4 says
"In the GO-AROUND phase, the system makes no predictions. Consequently, CLB and DES modes are not available, and the flight crew must monitor constraints"

Conflicting information: in one hand CLIMB can be armed during go around phase, in the other hand CLMB mode can never be engaged in the go around phase ( see engagement condition )
And finally system related procedure states that climb is not available during go around phase and that the flight crew must monitor the constraints?

Climb mode can be armed but cannot be engaged during go around phase. For a missed approach the pilots themselves have honor the altitude constraints. But if ALTN or new destination is selected then the armed CLB will engage and will take care of the altitude constraints.

CLB can be armed during the G/A phase; I think this is for the case where you divert and switch back to Climb phase, then CLB is available immediately in NAV.
Always set the lowest/first G/A altitude on the FCU !

That is right! you will bust any ALT CSTR in the GA FPLN

What you have stated is absolutely correct. Cimb mode is not available in GA phase. since you need to monitor constraints set the lowest altitude on FCU.
