View Full Version : EASA in the USA...

Hello all,

I'll get to the point as well and quickly as I can.

I'm from the UK, and am planning (hoping) to complete my PPL in the USA this year (mainly because of the considerable low costs and quick completion time).

I am, however, very concerned about new EASA rules which have/will soon come into place. Is it possible, with current EASA regulations, for a British student to complete a JAA PPL at a European authorised flight school in the US (such as AAA in San Diego) without being asked to complete a massive set of tests when returning to the UK?
I do not mind converting a license if this is what it takes, but I do not want to be kicked in the face when I return after spending so much money. And many schools in the US only tell you what you want to hear.

It is incredibly difficult to find a reliable source which tells you what you want to know.

I hope I get some replies and thank you to those who do!
