View Full Version : Travel insurance (medical) for private pilots

Due to being active in a number of what are regarded as “extreme sport” activities, I’ve always had to use specialist companies for my annual multi-trip cover – this is solved/renewed (and oddly gets easier/cheaper each passing year).

However, there is one exception – I am not medically covered when piloting an aircraft. Ironically, my wife and child(on same policy) are covered, but I am not if PIC in the same aircraft.

Anyone have any ideas of an insurer that can provide travel medical cover solely for private flying? I’m a PPL(H) and would want global cover / annual basis.

I have my family annual multi-trip insurance with Traffords and I'm covered whilst flying as PIC

Also with Traffords, who insure our Group plane. American Express did it until I was 65. I then tried our plane insurer, and was successful.
