USA..possibly Mississippi.

A PA 32 with three licensed pilots aboard crashed into a house, killing all three aboard the plane. The plane was enroute to a FAA conference with reports of ''sputtering'' shortly after takeoff. Reports of request to turn back to the airport heard on tower frequency.

Yo 7

The topic at the conference was "safety". Honest.

with an engine running, rough...I would turn towards the airport...if the engine had quit I would approach my preselected emergency landing area.

simulator tests showed that the ''sully'' scenario, if done quickly, a turn to LGA would have made runway 13.

In this situation you do not ask, you tell ATC what you are doing!

as I recall the PA32 embraces a number of pipers

the T tail turbo LANCE is the most demanding GA single I've ever flown...

however the low tail lance , saratoga, cherokee six and the like are very pleaseant and with only three people likely to glide pretty well.

but we don't really know which version crashed

I did hear that the plane had not been flown in one month's time...fuel contamination/water???

Sad loss to all families.

The PA32 variant is a pussycat if loaded correctly. This accident is obviously power plant related.

As sevenstrokeroll says, the Piper Turbo Lance II is a demanding aircraft. Some say its a real pilots aeroplane and you most certainly have to be a step ahead of it.
