Just a curiosity, on airbus 32X family, many pilots disarm reverse and in the mean time spoilers just bifore vacating, others disarm reverse and then once vacated spoilers. Others vacate rwy with idle reverse, then disarm reverse and spoilers.... What do you usually do?

Reverse as required - but rev idle by 70 knots - unless you REALLY NEED IT!

Forward idle i.e. reversers stowed just prior to exiting the runway to prevent risk of FOD ingestion.

Spoilers disarmed after vacating and slowed down - 1. Because there's no hurry. 2. It ensures that the weight stays on the wheels (brakes) - I've seen it done at 60 knots during roll out. 3. It's a trigger for the PNF to complete the after landing scan which only needs to be done when everything is slowed down and both of you know where you're going (taxi route).

Keep It Simple. :ok:

Totally agree with A4

I don't know any company that leaves reverse idle until they have left the runway for the reasons stated above. I found that most use the disarming of the spoilers as a trigger for the PNF to commence his after landing scan and only do this once they have received, and understood, the taxi instructions. This ensures that both pilots are listening to said instructions and not distracted by a task that has no urgency.

I agree with the previous posts like A4, this was a habit formed while operating CFM engines that tended to be like vacuum cleaners even in idle reverse, the IAE engines not as bad, so our company wanted reversers stowed at 60 to prevent fan erosion.

our FCTM reversers stowed at 30k due FOD

Full reverse to idle reverse at 70kts for normal operation.
On runway Idle reverse to forward idle at taxi speed (30kts in straight line) before vacating runway at 90 degrees.
On RET Idle reverse to forward idle at taxi speed (30kts straight line or 10kts for a turn at end of RET).
Above technique I've always found keeps brake temps nice and low , most RETs are also checked for FOD by airport ops when checking runways.
Spoilers disarmed after reverse cancelled.

Flying as passenger, two different easyjet's pilots, once landed on rwy 35L vaceted rwy with reverse open and idle, then when on the the taxiway the closed reverse and started after landing items. The first time rwy was wet and slippery, but the second time the weather was fine and rwy dry. In your opinion, why did they close reverse only when on the twy?

A4 has described the easyJet SOPs exactly. It's worth noting however that there is no restriction on using REV idle all the way down to stop:

FCOM LIM-70 P 3/4:

‐ It is not permitted to select reverse thrust in flight
‐ It is not permitted to back up the aircraft with reverse thrust
‐ Maximum reverse should not be used below 70 kt. (Idle reverse is permitted down to aircraft stop).

My only point is that there's no need to ride someone, get on their back or even  yourself if they forget, leave it to 10 kts or take their time.

As for why someone would leave it to the taxiway they're either one of these 'I won't be rushed' types that take it overly slow, it was a high speed turn off on one vacate and a 90 degree turn off on the next or they simply forgot until reminded by PNF.

In long runways , such as Mxp (Limc) or Fco , I usually see reverse closed and spoilers disarmed immedeately aftter touch down. Teorically is It a mistake ?

First question is - why? What's the benefit? If you want to roll to the end fine, but to disarm/cancel rev just after touchdown exposes you to other issues/distractions. Leave everything where it should be and only cancel reverse when sensible to do so. The spoilers can stay till vacated.

What about if the runway is wet? Same practice? := killing the spoilers increases your chance of aquaplane....and then the only thing that will slow you is Reverse (which you just cancelled) :ugh::ugh:

Just stick to safe SOP's - it's when people try to be clever that things go wrong (like landing long to vacate at the end..........)

Easyjet A319 landing in Rome Fiumicino (LIRF) RNW 16L from Milan Malpensa (LIMC) - YouTube (http://youtu.be/zRDzUBkMfyA)

That's exactly the same happened in Mxp...

They must have charged that crew for spoiler use by the second.

I agree with everything just said, but in such long runways as Milano Malpensa or Roma Fiume and you have to vacate far away I think it's not a big issue cancelling reverse, what the PF decides it's almost nice. Maybe in the previous video the pilot flying could keep spoilers ;)
