The aircraft is probably G-SIMP. RIP. :(

Reading that Daily Mail article,I think that the only thing I'd trust is the names of the people, and the fact that an accident has tragically happened as well as roughly where and when. The rest is quite probably incorrect.

According to witnesses, it was 12: 45 pm when a loud bang echoed through the sky above Pierre-Buffière. One resident said he had first heard an engine misfire in the distance. Looking up, he saw pieces of the aircraft falling from the sky. "It made a terrible noise and then I saw a jumble of aluminum and scap metal," says Albert, aged 86.

Debris was found within a perimeter of 200m.

That is a free translation from www.lamontagne.fr - A la Une - PIERRE-BUFFIERE (87260) - Un père et son fils tués dans le crash de leur ULM (vidéo) (http://www.lamontagne.fr/limousin/actualite/2012/06/29/un-pere-et-son-fils-tues-dans-le-crash-de-leur-ulm-video-1208984.html)

It seems that almost 5 hours elapsed between the emergency services finding first casualty and the second, which might support reports of a mid-air break-up. The fact that the witness confused fibre-glass with aluminium does not, IMO, make him any less reliable.
