Unless I misread the reports, it seems that the entire Clan Charlie came back from their arduous apres-ski duties for Granny's funeral on the same flight. I thought this was against protocol? If -- heaven forbid -- the wings had dropped off in transit, we'd be looking at King Andy and, far more terrifying, an entire month of solemn music on t'wireless.

Did I get it wrong, or couldn't they get seats on two flights?

What I heard, way out here in OZ, is HRH gave special permission for them all to fly on the one flight, just this once to expedite their return. Mention was made that this is definately not the normal procedure for Clan Charlie as you put it.

It wasn't HRH. It was in fact the Queen who gave the approval. That is what the news was reporting anyway. Very sensible when all is said and done.

Im sorry, I mustve got it wrong.

I thought HRH was the abreviation for Her Royal Highness, ie The Queen. Thats whom I meant in any case.
