Good evening everybody, a bit of advice needed please for a trip I am taking to Le Touquet quite soon. A number of us are making the trip from our club and the general consensus is that they are going to leave it late to find accommodation, but I don't like doing that, I can't imagine leaving it to the week before! Could anyone recommend a B&B for me and the wife please, and I can also tell the ladies and gentlemen who are also partaking in the trip.

Thanks in advance, Jim:ok:

If you are from Sandtoft ask Nikki.

We are stopping at the IBIS.

The Red Fox in the center of town is ok - smack bang in the middle, so quite handy.

Yes Thing, from Sherburn, quite nervous about it to be honest! But I think it's something I need to do to push my comfort zone a bit!

Cheers, Jim:ok:

What are LTQ hotels like for availability?

I recall, years ago, being unable to find any that had a room. In the end we flew out of there. Maybe it was due to some event?

Take her to the Novotel Thalassa right on the seafront/ beach: (provided the thundering sea noise doesn't keep you awake.)

Circa £110 per night.

(Ah memories.............)

On reflection, Ibis Thalassa next door might be a better bet: prob cheaper (75%) and being an Accor Group hotel has a 4pm late cancellation policy so if you have to bin the flight due to weather, so long as you tell them by 1600 frog time on planned day of arrival you don't get a cancellation charge.

Hotel Bristol (http://www.hotelbristol.fr) is nice - recently refurbished and in a good spot.

Personally I would only book ahead hotels with a late cancellation policy e.g the Accor (?) one on the sea front and the Holiday Inn due to the vaguaries of the English/Northern France weather.

Its worth checking the rate as it may drop nearer the time and you can rebook at a lower rate and cancel the original booking. On the day you may be able to swop to a cheaper (non cancellable) rate once you are assured you are going.

When I went with my family I booked the Holiday Inn as they have duplex rooms that all four of us can get in. If I was going with mates I would just sort it out when we got there (avoiding public holidays/festivals etc.).

I like that big place in the centre, not too far to carry the winnings when you leave the casino.

...and don't forget to eat at Perard, 67, rue de Metz, 62520 Le Touquet

The best seafood in the town :ok:

Been past there a few times - always packed out, no room and a queue outside :)

Perard is no longer as good as it was in my opinion.

Far better is the resteraunt opposite the stables on the way into town. Much more pleasant surroundings, better food and charming staff.

Perard 6.5/10, by the stables 7.75/10 on a scale where the best resteraunt i have ever been makes 10!

For seafood I am told that there is a place across the river on top of the fishmarket, any more info would be helpful.
