My airline has instituted a reduced pack flow procedure in order to save fuel. I seem to recall Lufthansa (?) doing something similar a while ago, and then canceling due to cabin air quality concerns.

Have I got this right? Anyone able to shed light?

Thanks,

The three airlines I have worked for have all done it as standard operations (sometimes depending on passenger numbers) - it's pretty normal around the world.

If your airline has only just introduced reduced pack flows to conserve fuel they are at least 30 years behind the times, if not more. Won't be an issue on the Dreamliner, electric packs.

Know your systems before you do that.
The 744 burns less fuel with all three packs operating than 2.
Also, be careful about your smoke removal procedures.
