Looking for info on the outboard slat on the early model 737-200Basic vs. the -200 ADV. If you compare the two pictures, you can see that the outer slat on the early model extended slightly further than the rest but in the second picture with the redesigned LED's the outer slat extends less than the others. Anyone know why?

If memory serves correctly the 1 and 6 slats remained in the same position between the original aircraft and the adv (they had ext and full ext from the get go). It was the 2-5 slats that were given the "full extend" position in the adv aircraft (originally they only moved to what is not referred to "extend"). I believe this was to aid in low speed controlability.
