GAPAN Scholarships

Hi. Has anyone applied or know of anyone who has applied for GAPAN scholarships and know of level of competition for them?

I had a student last year who was on a GAPAN scholarship. It paid for his flight training and exams etc. Not too sure how he got the scholarship, but I think he just applied to GAPAN via their website and was one of the chosen few. I believe there was an interview involved. I know the flight school had to give GAPAN a competitive price for the full course before being given the job.

I don't know how much competition there is, but it must be worth a try. I applied for a bursary to remove my aerobatics restriction. I was not successful (I think they decided to award two instrument bursaries instead) but I was told that there were very few applicants for the aeros bursary.

The PPL student did really well, passing his test in 45 hours 10 mins. The 10 mins was just carelessness on the part of the examiner:)

I've applied for the FI award. I imagine the competition will be fairly tough!
