There are several IR training programs for PCs, they vary greatly in price. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good all round package at sensible prices?

Jeppersen Flitepro is OK but there is no ADF dip, which is important for an IR exam. It is ideal for learning routes though. Don't waste your money on the extra package with the IR database.

Ontop has a free demo. Nag screen comes up every couple of minutes, limited to a couple of airports, but what the heck it's free.. .. .http://www.asa2fly.com/demos.htm

You can fly the routes on most of the microsoft Flight sims. FS2002 is more than adequate.. .. .The only thing FS2002 does not cover is ADF dip. For this buy RANT. Unfortunately it appears that 90% of passing the the IR is flying a hold properly. RANT simulates ADF dip and is excellent for guaging gates etc with all different types of wind. I wish I'd bought this before I cocked my first test up. 90 quid well spent.
