A few questions for Airbus Glass Cockipt drivers. Boeing drivers are welcome to submit their opinions.

At the transitional altitude, how do you select your QNE on the Airbus 320/30/40? Is it displayed in inches and/or millibars?

What are the SOP's in your companies on setting QNE? Do you set it at 29.92ins (1013.2hPa) or a plain 1013hPa?

I look forward to your replies.

On the Fokker 100 we simply press a button marked "STD". STD is then also displayed at the bottom of the altimeter tape.

I know the question you're trying to get the answer for, but remember that QNE is not the same as the Standard (STD) pressure setting. It's a commonly made mistake.

QNE is in fact displayed in feet (or meters). It's the reading in feet on an altimeter set to 1013.2 millibars (standard pressure) when the aircraft is at aerodrome elevation.
