Can anyone enlighten me about the history and purpose of the sliced aircraft lying on the southside of LGW. It looks like a 75 but my aircraft recognition silhouette book doesn't seem to have anything similar in it.

The pieces in question are an ex-Turkish RJ-100. Full history unknown, but there are signs of damage around the lower nose area. I believe, it was an insurance write-off, why it's outside Cityflyers 'tent' I don't know.

Don't know if this is the one you mean, but CityFlyer have the fuselage of an Avro RJ100 that THY broke for use as a cabin trainer. As I understand it, the fuselage had been sliced up for dismantling before CFE found out it was available and secured it. They were planning on putting the pieces back together; don't know if they've done so yet.

Further to the above, here's the ID:
msn E3240; RJ100 built at WFD 1994; TC-THF Turkish Airlines; dber SSX 1998-01-11; hulk used as cabin trainer by CityFlyer Express
