About 1989, I seem to recall watching a C4 docusoap ("Equinox", I think) about the DC10 crash nr Paris in 1974.

Usual 'conspiracy theory' type stuff about evil corporations rushing A/C into service before fully tested etc...etc...

However, there was a guy playing a Pilot in it. The commentary (I'm sure) said he had actually been a Commercial Pilot before giving it up to become an Accctooorrrr.... :)

...Oh Darlings...Oh Luvvies...I love you all...this award isn't just for me it's for all of you...etc....etc..... :) :)

Anyway, is this true? Is he still acting? Or what?

Or is my memory faulty... :)

Just wondered whether anyone knew? It seemed a rather strange choice of career direction, but it takes all sorts I suppose.....

Don't know about this guy you speak of but I have given up (for the time being) doing my ATPL in order to do acting work...Suppose it's like flying..you do it because it is something you must do regardless of the difficult times. In all truth,I only wan't my ATPL to instruct as that is as far as I want to go in aviation..just a pity I have got to speand all that cash to teach the PPL syllabus unlike the old BCPL...Still,it's better to scrape a living doing the thing(s) you love (however various they are!) than to be bored brainless but rich. For me,both flying and drama rock my boat equally!!
