plus trillions of gliders.

I've also flown lots of stuff as non Pic. With a qualified on type P1 of course.

Lunchmaster I take it the mighty 28 was tongue in cheek, took a couple of friends flying today (like a mill pond, beautiful) and was at max TO weight. It didn't accelerate to take of speed, it proceeded....

Some very impressive diversity of experience here! :ok:

Not much exotica in my logbook, but I'm always looking to add new experiences. Airplanes I have time in so far:

Land planes:
Beech B-19 Sport, C-23 Sundowner, C24R Sierra, BE-76 Duchess, Various model 35s
Bellanca/Champion 8KCAB Decathlon
Cessna 150,152,172,172RG,175,177,177RG,182,182RG,195,205,210,T210,3 10
Citabria 7GCBC and 7ECA
Grumman American AA-5A and B Cheetah and Tiger. (and AG-5B)
Hawker HS125-400,700,800XP
IAI-1124/1124A (Westwind I and II)
Learjet 60
Piper PA-12 ,18,24,28-140 thru 200T,30,34

Seaplanes:
C-150,172,182 straight floats, C-185 on amphibs
PA-18 Super Cub straight floats, PA-23 Apache on straight and amphib floats
Lake Buccaneer

The Decathlon is the most pure fun followed closely by the Super Cub float plane in a mountainous environment. The Lear 60 wins hands down in terms of raw performance, but the quirky old Westwind still owns my heart as it was my first jet and is the type I have the most time in.

The biggest dog of the bunch has to be the Seneca I. It gets the job done is the best I can say about it! The turbo models are far superior. If there was ever an airplane I felt totally at ease with, it would have to be the mighty Skyhawk. I would love to own an early '70s model someday.

Somewhere down the road I'd like to add a glider rating too.

Almost snap, only up to B747-300, and not quite everything in between.

Turbulent ? not a wish list

So what's wrong with the Turb ? ( when you can get it to start ) great little aeroplane, Such Fun ! ( to quote Mirandas' Mother )

Starts with the first proper swing, how does it go ?

Fuel on, brakes on, throttle set, ...... ignition on..... contact.

Can`t say fairer than that, can we ?

Apart from the brakes, obviously.

I have a fairly boring list but here it is:

PA28-140 -My first flying lesson on this. Very nice aircraft.
C172 M/N/R/S -N version is my favourite
G115A -Even though it's very underpowered it's fun to fly.
PA34-200T - Excellent aircraft for instrument flying.
B737-800 - Great aircraft with plenty of power and a good wing. Very hard to go down and slow down at the same time and in even light turb on the approach pitch varies a lot along with the speed.

Aircraft that I would like to fly but probably won't get the chance:

B737-200 - My favourite aircraft. Got to fly the sim a few times and found it much more enjoyable than the -800.
B707 -What more can be said.

I would also like to get a few tailwheel types in the logbook also

Yes, yes, enjoying the thread, and, as a PPL of slender means I am of course humbled by the variety of types that some have had the good fortune to get their hands on.
If, like me, life/work/fate, etc. has moved you around the place a bit, you might be surprised by how many different airframes have been involved in your accumulation of hours/types.
I have soloed and been cleared to fly pax in seven types (plus variations) in my 430-odd hours logged.
I've looked at my logbooks tonight (there's nothing on the telly) and this is what I found.

C150/152
24 Registrations Logged 231.30 Hours

C172
11 Registrations Logged 86.55 Hours

PA28-140
10 Registrations Logged 48.10 Hours

AA5,(A),(B)
4 Registrations Logged 45.50 Hours

C182
1 Registration Logged 14.15 Hours

PA38 Tomahawk
3 Registrations Logged 6.05 Hours

MS880B
2 Registrations Logged 2.45 Hours

So, I make that 55 individual airplanes flown by me as PUT or PIC to accumulate 430-odd hours out of 7 'home airfields' over 20-odd years as an impecunious peripatetic PPL in the British Isles. An average of less than 8 hours in each. 'Average' not true in reality as I was in group ownership on three of these aircraft which 'skews' the figures.

Today I was sent to ferry back a forgotten Lake Amphibian - what a beautiful plane! At some point in it's life, it had been very well cared for. Not recently though. With ferry permit in hand, I had to inflate three totally flat tires, and change the battery. After the requisite very detailed walkaround, draining of all sumps and so forth, and long warm up and ground run, it took to the air like a homesick angel.

As I flew it high on a pristine day, I took the time to dig out the journey log, and see what it had been doing recently - Nothing! This poor plane had not moved from it's tiedowns since June 2010. Well, it seemed very happy to fly now. After it's annual inspection, I'll take it into the water on a demo flight to a prospective buyer. I hope it will find new appreciation.

That plane brings my tally (and the return from my thread drift) to 222 individual aircraft I have recorded flying as PIC.

That plane brings my tally (and the return from my thread drift) to 222 individual aircraft I have recorded flying as PIC.
Surreally enough, I just got Excel to count the number of individual registrations in my logbook and it came to 223 (probably actually a few more as a couple of flight test registrations in there have been used on multiple airframes).

The aircraft i've sat in (and on!) are:

Lancaster (s)
Spitfire
Wellington
Mosquito
Lysander

nothing against cessna, in general they are all great training aircraft, however when I had my trial lesson on the C152 I did not felt that confortable in it. :ok:

That's been my impression, especially during a gusty crosswind landing. A really wonderfully, rewarding airplane to fly, though.
