Does anybody know of any advances in the ATC side of the industry, whether it be something that has been implented or will most likely be, in the near future? For example, using GPS to reduce the separation between aircraft, and high altitude aircraft to allow you to get above the ATC rules. I've a presentation to do on the topic for uni, so any help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

NATS R&D folks have a website, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

Maybe it is a victim of the post 11/9 cutbacks....?
