AR1 do you know her?

AR1
20th Jul 2011, 15:49
No I don't! - She put the RFI out via her twitter feed, asking for help, so i opened this up and passed the link. - And thanks to the chap who PM'd me with some club deatails.
Anyway, it's got me excited (in aeronautical terms), so I'm thinking about putting in an appearance at my local Gliding club in Notts, that I didn't know existed until I began foraging.
Cheers!

I was following her from the start on the apprentice, thought she was ace. And pretty hot. haha.

Anyway would be a great way to meet her to offer her some free/cheap flying lessons, or even just take her out flying would be ace :)

Blimey, if she reads all these comments her head will be too big to fit in any aircraft.

Helen, you're a minger. :}

Im surprised these apprentice people havent got PPL's already, they claim to have achieved everything else in life! Especially the gobby female one, she was only missing the Nobel Peace Prize.

I actually thought Helen was one of the more down to earth candidates and given her obvious abilities she did well to maintain a level of professionalism throughout the process unlike the majority of the other candidates.

Good on her if she takes up flying, given how she was portrayed on the programme she'd do well to find some way of readjusting her work / life balance.

I have to say that Jim was a patter merchant, he would be eaten alive in my line of work with that sort of waffle...

... that such a well known and highly regarded personality is choosing to take up private aviation. She's become a celebrity, and if she chooses to complete the PPL could be a great ambassador for our cause. She's already shown she has the wit and determination to learn how to fly through the various challenges completed in the Apprentice.

Good luck to her.

I guess if she's based near Nottingham but responsible for the South East, then being able to fly might actually be useful in her business too.

I didn't see the program where the treat was to fly from White Waltham - I guess this could have been the trigger and maybe shows the value of trial flights to those who hadn't considered flying before.

:ugh:

She was the runner up on the 7th series of Apprentice. Come on, it's hardly ambassador status stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder if the runners up from series 1-6 have become the cut and thrust spearheads oftheir hobbies !!!

She wants to learn to fly. Good stuff. Period.

Going back to a more professional line for a sec... Leicester Aero Club have a nice setup, very reasonable prices and a great cafe. Further west Tatenhill are quieter but have a new FTO specialising in advanced training with PPL work as an extra, as well as the existing RF.

I think my club visit Lycester for a night flying ex come winter. Isn't there a curry house nearby? (mind you I would be surprised if there wasn't.........)

Yes, very nearby - the aero club at Leicester do a decent curry night on Thursdays, usually curry + a drink for £5, 3 varied curries, etc. Worth a trip, they do a quiz night with it too.

Well I for one wished she lived in the North West!! I wonder if she'd like to move onto tail draggers :)
Having watched the Apprentice for a few seasons Helen was deffinately the most down to earth, competant and above all pleasent person Ive seen. (Oh why did she go for the Cleaning Service in the Final!)
I must call in at Notts or Leciester soon!
