Afternoon all,

Thinking of buying a TB200 XL and wondered if anyone has any experience of these machines, how do you find them? Who does the maintenance and where? What is part availability like, and anything else you might think useful for me to know before I take the plunge?

I'd also be interested in hearing from anyone that has experience with TB10 and TB20 also to see how it compares.

Spent some time flying a TB200 (G-HEVN) out of enstone - very nice to fly, quick, stable and not too thirsty

Revising for the JAA IR "95%-trash" exams.

Some TB20 notes can be found here (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/tb20-experience/index.html). An excellent aircraft.

Isn't the OP asking about the TB200 not the TB20?

The TB200 is the TB10 with a 200hp donkey rather than the 180hp.

Much what G-HEVN's current owner thinks about it, after a fair bit of work on it following some neglect!

I flew it last about 3 years ago, I rented it from a flying club at Enstone, when I flew it my memories were of a very nice aircraft which seemed well looked after and cared for - are you saying that was not the case and it had issues which were not apparent?

Welcome back IO, good luck with the exams, just finished a great brunch in the French Alps with baguette and Beaufort d'ete, not that it has anything to do with this thread.....!

... hence the TB20 comments.

The TB200 is a fine plane, and has fuel injection so no dreaded carb heat issues, but, along with the TB9 or TB10, doesn't even begin to compare with a TB20 in terms of performance and mission capability.

Very few TB200s were ever sold. I think they were way overpriced by the time they came out, and very few TB9s or 10s were selling by that time anyway because they were overpriced too.

It was then, but had a rather long annual subsequently. New owner bought it during that process for a very reasonable amount, it looks good now!
