Sorry to be a nerd, but the CAA didn't really answer my question when I phoned them. Awarded PPL (A) in 19xx. Then went on to fly military until 2000 when desk job enforced. I want to keep flying for fun. Anyone with some advice? Thanks

for the answers to the most common questions, the CAA usually direct people to their General Information Documents (GID's). these can be foound on the Safety Regulation Group's web site if you know where to look!

In relation to the requirements for renewal / revalidation of a civilian PPL(A) GID 33 refers.

The URL for this particular GID is:
http://www.srg.caa.co.uk/documents/srg_fcl_gid33.pdf

Hope this helps.

Thanks Pigs and yes to be fair to the CAA they did refer me to GID 33. Much appreciated and having a look at the document now.

Cheers
