I am shortly undertaking a distance learning ATPL course. I have only recently started my PPL and am concerned that if I have not completed it before the new course I will not be able to continue. Can anyone clarify if it is a pre-requisite of the ATPL that the PPL is complete or can I continue in parallel.
Thanks in anticipation of your help.
P.S. Can someone remind me of the formula to calculate body mass (weightxheight). I know BA use a good one.

Personally, if I were you, i'd get your PPL completed and licence issued before even thinking about the ATPL. One step at a time.

And i'd be suprised if any ATPL FTO will accept you without a PPL, I had to give my school a photcopy!

Concentrate on gaining your Private licence, gain some experiance then commit 100% to the ATPL - because you'll have to !!!

Best of luck

Try weight in kilos divided by (height in meters squared). A BMI of 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight and one 30 or above is considered obese.
