I expect to arrive in Sitia on 5th June...wonder if there's scope for combining!

Edit: A quick look at the map suggests not!

I could do it nonstop, though not with meaningful reserves given that no possible alternate will have avgas :)

1 stop in say Croatia is fine. I planned that in 2009 but quickly found out that I could not make it in 1 day due to airport opening/closing times. But this time round they have extended the hours so it can be done. However I plan to be in the area anyway.

You will enjoy Sitia (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/crete2/lgst-final-big.jpg) - a lovely place :ok:

Wouldn't Portoroz LJPZ make a good place for refuelling?

Yes, down the Adriatic you have your pick of excellent GA airports:

Ljlubjana (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/corfu/ljubljana-big.jpg)
Portoroz (I am going there)
Pula
Losinj
Brac (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/troy/brac-north-coast-big.jpg)
Split (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/troy/ldsp-final-big.jpg)
Dubrovnik (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/corfu/dub-old-town-big.jpg)

Then you have Pristina (Montenegro) which I cannot speak for.
Tirana (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/corfu/lati-apron.jpg) (Albania) has no avgas, and I don't recommend staying the night ;)

Then you have Kerkira/Corfu (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/santorini/corfu-base-big.jpg) (get written PPR always) which is the traditional customs+avgas entry/exit point for Greece.

But for Kavala you don't want to go via Corfu; too much out of the way. Slovenia or upper end of Croatia is better. Losinj (http://www.peter2000.co.uk/aviation/odessa/losinj-town-big.jpg) is a lovely island.

And, the best bit, all the above avoids refuelling in Italy ;)

I'm planning to refuel in Italy; I fly there now in confidence knowing what a friendly and helpful guy AfricanEagle is :ok:

I'll be there again this year. It is nicely set up by resident Egnatia Aviation.

I just turned green with envy -looks like a great trip with a fantastic destination. (I also like the bit about fireworks being fired at and by the aerobatic team )
