Delta Papa, you don't FLEX when you don't have EPR. Just select the corresponding TOGA settings for the given OAT provided you have rated N1.:ok:

Flex take-off is not allowed in N1 mode and (take off is only allowed in rated N1 mode, if you are in unrated N1 mode you are staying put). No need to look at OAT and thrust settings etc, simply put the levers in the TOGA gate and the FADEC will compute the thrust setting. No autothrust either.

Thanks 9.G & MAX ANGLE, the explanation is on the AFM, 6.03.4 P1, Dispatch in rated N1 Mode. Thank you very much.:ok:

Hi Delta Papa,

You can also look in FCOM Bulletins 804-1 IAE V2500 N1 mode. On page 5 of the bulletin there is a graph that gives you comparison between thrust available for different modes. Since there is a significant loss of thrust in N1 rated mode, there is a significant performance penalties for take off as well.

EPR mode: everything is available.

N1 rated mode: On ground GO item but performance penalties and auto thrust is lost.

N1 Unrated mode: On ground NO-GO item, in flight you have to refer to FCOM 3.05.05 Thrust Ratings for maximum N1 allowed. This is the only mode where you can over boost or red line the engine.
