As I start IR school soon, I was just wondering if an NDB QDR/QDM is to intercept in the same way as a VOR-radial. That would mean: 45 or 90/45 TO the station and one third (max 30deg)of the difference between the radial you're on and the radial you wish to be on for FROM the station. By the way if my ideas of intercepting a VOR-radial are wrong please correct.

Thanks for answers

Yes.. That all sounds fine, and you have a fair idea of what you are trying to achieve.. .Your instructors will also teach you on your course the correct way they want it all done, that is what someone is paying them for, make sure they deliver. Good luck.

Same intercept procedures.. .It`s actually easier to intercept and NDB bearing than a VOR radial (but harder to track though) due to the fact that the head of the needle always points to the station - there`s a bit of situational awareness for ya`!Hope it helps.
