Hi guys
In fto where I fly there is p2006 that we used for MEP rating.
The rotax engines have a limitation of 5800 rpm for 5 min maximum and 5500 RPM continuously.
In the cockpit I have only Map gouge and propeller rpm gouge.
How can know if I' m using the engine at or above 5500 RPM?
thanks for any answer

With a gear ratio of 1:2.4286
- 5.500 = 2.264
- 5.800 = 2.388

The engine is probably driving the propeller through a gearbox with a fixed reduction ratio. In this case the propeller gauge will be marked with a red line and a yellow sector.

I believe the Rotax 912 S (?) Engines on your aircraft drive through a 2.43:1 reduction Gearbox, so can work out Limitations from this ? perhaps a quick look at the Rotax website will help

Thanks guys,
but with 16/17 inches of Map, I have the RPM on the red line (like all other kind of engines) and I don't think that the engine is at its maximum rpm.
What do you think?
I checked on rotax website but I didn't get answers.....or I didn't find them:ugh:

In the cockpit I have only Map gouge and propeller rpm gouge. So just convert prop rpm to eng rpm, a no brainer IMHO.
Formula......see above.
