Hello,

I will be in Madrid, Spain for a couple of weeks shortly. Anyone know where I can rent (with instructor) a PA28-161 or Cessna 172 ?

Is there a European equivalent of Find Planes Anywhere Nationwide... Just A Click Away! Rentplanes.com Find a Plane, Rent a Plane, Buy or Sell a Plane, and Get Your Rental Plane Listed! (http://www.rentplanes.com/index.asp) ?

Thanks!
Humhaw.

The Main GA airport in Madrid is Cuatro Vientos which has a large number of flight schools. The ones I can remember off the top of my head are below. (but there are many more)

Aerofan
American flyers
Aeromadrid
Gestair

If at all possible, I would go anywhere else in the vicinity except Cuatro Vientos. The schools mentioned above are (or were when they existed, not sure if all of them still around) very commercially oriented so you probably won't get a nice experience out of it. Plus Cuatro Vientos is a fuсking hideous place anyway.

What you can do is get yourself a VFR chart and see what else is in the area, then visit or phone. I do not have any experience with them, but maybe try LEOC or LEMT--there should be aeroclubs in each, presumably with instructors... or you could just ask a club member to take you up.
