With Saturday 26th night fast appraoching, I was just wondering if anybody is sheduled to fly through London's airspace during the night and maybe sneak to first spot receiving the opening transmission from the 'new' radar control centre.

On a side note, how do you guys feel about the change to the new centre?? Have you heard much about it? Anyone tried for the first operational tour yet???? Looking forward to plenty of wittycism's, and if anyone can save them for the night itself, see ya there

Arriving at LHR fron IAD on the morning of the 26th so should be OK.

I take it the callsign of this new centre is going to be "Southampton Centre"?

ETOPS, you're fine then if you get in on Sat morn, its during the night on Sat to Sun that the change takes place Our callsign still remains "London Control" but our new centre currently known as Swanwick or Nerc (New En Route Centre), now becomes LACC (London Area Control Centre), and the old one in West Drayton now LTCC (London Terminal Control Centre) as apposed to LATCC.

Fingers crossed, you hopefully won't even know the difference :) :)
